  2. Would be a real shame if Lukashenko and his Gestapo guys will one day face the same fate as Ceaușescu for what they have done to their country.

  3. Russian Mir. Soon in other European countries. Keep founding Putin’s sick dream return to Tzar Empire borders.

  4. I am so glad that US and EU have sent many tons of thoughts and prayers to her. Think about the fact that almost ALL of top Belarus military and police officials are not barred from entry to US and EU or their families are not barred from entry/living in US and EU.

  5. Extremism becomes meaningless term in CIS region as it’s applied to peaceful opposition, those who plan to commit terrorist acts, those who write comments online.

  6. This is ridiculous. The worst part is, there’s no viable plan to get rid of Lukashenko. Would, say, a $200m payment work for him to leave office and retire in the Middle East? Probably not – he’s almost certainly worth more. And would fear reprisals.

    Sanctions? They don’t hurt him.

Protesting leads to innocent people like this being flung into jail for decades. What do we do?

  7. Reminder that we are also a few laws away from being in a dictatorship like Belarus. The UK for instance is slowly tightening its laws against protesting and free speech…
