I mean, yeah, going out without water is stupid. Continuing on after running out of water is even more stupid.

There is a housing estate literally visible over her shoulder. It’s hardly the backwoods of Appalachia.
You can literally see houses and an urban environment in the background, jaysas hope she doesn’t think of hiking the Andes next year.

I’m a healthy young person and I got turned around on a solo hike in the mountains once. I was within 10 kilometers of my house as the crow flies, but up hill, heavy forest, identical trails, temperature dropping as night comes…. I wasn’t panicked but I was fighting the urge to.

Can’t even escape online ridicule in the Wicklow mountains. There’s also an element of fatphobia in this. Like, I know if you put in the work consistently, you can lose weight but at the end of the day, obesity is a disability. Maybe she used to weigh 50kg more than she does now and she’s finally built up the strength to go hiking. She’s inexperienced, hasn’t had a chance to test her limits and gets ridiculed at her worst moments.
Like who hasn’t had a meltdown after being physically exhausted? Yes she overestimated herself but hasn’t she been punished enough already?
