Was just wondering if anyone else has this spider in their homes or if they knew the name of it. A friend and I quote on quote “shat ourselves” when we saw it and tried to catch it but we are afraid to go anywhere near it now so it will probably just make permanent residents in her home from now on

  1. It’s either the tegenaria or eratigena house spider. They’re both harmless. I think they may have been know to bite when provoked, but I don’t think they’re particularly good at it and it’s not a bad venom. I was rough with them as a kid and I couldn’t get one to bite me though. I honestly can’t say they even would. I’ve so many living in my bedroom.

  2. Shat myself two nights ago as one was hanging outside the window and casting a shadow over the curtain making it seem twice as large

  3. That one is in your home, so definitely not in mine. Its name? It could be Bob, or his cousin Sam. It has always been hard tell them apart. They are both harmless, easy to catch and release.

  4. Make sure to pay him rent. A fly or two a week should do. If you fail to pay he may eat you so it’s best to pay. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Johnny down the road was eaten the last week! Apparently the spiders don’t accept the HAP scheme!

  5. You don’t need to *write* “quote on quote”, we can see the quotation marks. Really you didn’t even need the quotation marks, nobody would’ve thought you shat yourselves.
