Far-right Italian leader blasted for posting rape video

  1. For context: the video was taken by a bystander who witnessed the rape from a nearby building and called the authorities, leading to the arrest. It’s unclear how far the video had spread before Meloni shared it.

Meloni, who’s currently the front runner for the position of Prime Minister after the upcoming Parliamentary Elections, extend her sympathies to the victim and vowed to persecute the perpetrator – in the same post in which she shared the video of the rape to her millions of followers, and I’m gonna go ahead and assume she didn’t get the victim’s consent to do that.

  2. Obviously it’s wrong to share the video without authorisation, but you can also appreciate that she wants people to see the reality of the horrific act.

It’s too easy for the neoliberal elites to just treat it as a statistic otherwise, whilst they let another million “refugees” in for cheap labour and to undermine trade unions.

  3. The left had no problem to show the dead boy on the Turkish beach ( Alan Kurdi) to push their agenda regarding immigration. With the opposite faction doing the same it’s now foul play?

Both sides could have opted for clean stats but choose to be visual to get their message noticed.

  4. The video was edited to protect victim’s identity, so something tells me OP’s real problem is that video doesn’t hide identity of the rapist who was…not from around here.

  5. > 55 year old Ukrainian female refugee gets raped by 27 year old Guinean asylum seeker who was previously a manager (source : [https://www.ilpost.it/2022/08/22/strumentalizzazione-meloni-salvini-stupro-piacenza/?homepagePosition=1](https://www.ilpost.it/2022/08/22/strumentalizzazione-meloni-salvini-stupro-piacenza/?homepagePosition=1) )

    > politician posts pixelated video with sound to show the horrifying truth about limitless asylum economy

    > gets attacked for being a politician and trying to score political points with a unpleasant truth

    > Why are conservatives winning again in Italy?

Funny how there always seems to be are bigger outrage at politicians and people talking about this unacceptable situation and how to fix it, than at the atrocity alone. I just can’t understand that.

  6. Seeing as threads like this always bring with them thought-provoking discussions – anyone bother checking with the woman how she feels about video of her assault being shared online?

  7. Albert Heijn and i am assuming all grocery stores are only allowed to sell alcoholic beverages up to 14% anything stronger you would need a liquor store i.e Gall &Gall, Mitra etc.

  8. These are such filthy people, no honour, no humanity, real psychopaths who would abuse anything and anyone to gain power.

  9. You can post drivel articles with “blasted!!!!” on reddit as much as you want, you are either very sheltered or completely deluded if you pretend massive and continuous illegal immigration to Italy (done by foreign NGOs using boats registered outside of Italy) isn’t an actual problem. Italy and Europe has no obligation to take in the whole of human misery.

Especially when most of those “refugees” come from countries with no ongoing conflicts and mysteriously lose their passports and claim to be underage.
