Is she desperate to see farmers go out of business? What will happen to all those pork markets she opened in China? We will have to import more cheese too.
Farmers and rural areas tend to vote Tory more often than not, you would hope Brexit and the disastrous food sustainability policy would be enough to change that. Hopefully, the more policies like this she comes up with, the faster and stronger that change will be as rural areas are decimated.

In 2019, a study from the universities of Arizona and Maryland found great benefits in combining solar panels and crops. Up above, the solar panels were found to be kept 16°F cooler by evaporation from the crops below, enough to increase their energy generation by 2%.
Underneath, the few crops tested were 100% to 300% more productive depending on the species, and the shade provided by the solar panels reduced irrigation-water use by 15%, and reduced water consumption by a whopping 157 percent.
Nobody in their right mind would think that putting friction in the system for sustainable energy generation is a good thing. The fact that she sees this as a vote winner with the Tory membership says it all really.
