  1. How about heating of interior of the electric cars? Is’nt it severely limited by the battery capacity? Does it pose a problem in cold Norway?

  2. Seems like europe will no longer be one of the last strongholds for manual operated cars because of EV’s. Thanks Obama.

  3. The average salary in Norway is 2500€. How the hell are supposed to pay for an election car is other EU countries where the salary is 1000€.

  4. Yes, there are subsidies for EV and taxes for ICE. That’s not the point.

Point is that what nay sayers keep saying that noone would buy EV even if they were cheaper, simply is not true. As Norway shows. People still can buy ICE vehicle, the much better (/s) vehicle than EV. They still buying EV…

So let’s just wait 4-5 years until Tesla makes EVs cheaper with no subsidies and even without additional taxes on ICE. Suddenly all the “cannot work” folks will be buying it as hot cakes.

  5. In the meantime, I bought a new car. It’s 10 years old.

I avoided EV because from what I read, when EV is 10 years old, its battery is shit and replacing the battery is more expensive than buying the car.

I can’t wait for EV to be more readily available, technology to catch in as well the infrastructure with charging ports.

If you can only park on street, you can’t just “plug in the car at home”, same with workplace, there already isn’t space to park, so wouldn’t be able to plug the car there as well. I would love to use bus, but it both takes more time, is less flexible or convenient, and is more expensive at the same time.

People who keep pushing EV are often people who could afford to drive on liquid gold. Thats nice for them, but if they want a greater adoption of EV, without further decrease in poverty rates, they need to solve infrastructure and poverty first.

  6. Stop posting Norway role model crap here. Buying electric cars with oil money is the epitome of hypocrisy..

  7. Electricity price in Norway have increased 16 times since November. An average norwegian house use 24000 kWh (cuz 1/3 of year blow freezing point) and an average german house use 2000 kWh in a year. Now that Acer (agreement with eu) have hooked Norways electricity grid with Eu’s, the price of electricity in Norway have increased 16 times. So now, my month electricity bill of 3000 nok can be higher then my salary. It will be like this for months
