Today, 33 years ago 2 million Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians joined hands in hands from Vilnius to Tallinn to demand freedom and democracy from USSR. May this historic event never be forgotten!

2. What a legends. In Ukraine we had similar chain of people that symbolized the unity of east and western Ukraine

3. And now they are untouchable by Putin and his rashists due to NATO and EU.

5. I was there with my parents. Remember it felt like a picnic: people were sharing sandwiches, sweets and drinks and singing traditional folk songs.

9. Don’t forget that the independence of all countries besides lithuania was made possible by Russians – regular people from Moscow who flooded the streets on August 19-21, 1991 and prevented GKChP from gaining power.
