Is it possible to rent a flat in Finn.no for 1-3 months?

1. Hey again. Possible, maybe. The cases that rent for shorter periods like that are usually people who will not be able to use their apartment for a period, but plan to return.

   There are two types of rental agreements in Norway, one type doesn’t have a time frame and the other is to rent for a specific period. For the latter case there are laws saying they can’t be under 3 years with some exceptions, such as the case above where you’re going to use the apartment yourself after the end of the period.

   One of the exceptions I believe is if the person renting requests a shorter duration. However it is a bit of a hassle to accommodate that for the landlord, so chances are probably low reaching out to random landlords asking for such short rental periods.

   So it is possible to get lucky. You can try your luck reaching out to landlords to hear if they can accommodate you. However I don’t think chances are too great.

2. Most landlords want consistent income with little hasse. Renting for 3 short months are not worth it when they can get someone to rent for the same price for 1-10 years.

   I believe most on finn.no will deny you for 1-3 month rent only.

   There are some AirBnB that will accept this, however they are a bit few of them unfortunately.

   Regarding AirBnB, I would suggest contacting them and state your request. Some might be more acceptable for a longer stay for a bit less money for a period.

   (My colleague rented out his hut on AirBnB for 6 months to some polish workers for less money than usual. He had plans to move there himself, but time wasnt right, and he didnt want to go there every week to clean after the regular AirBnB guests)

3. I’ve done just that, rented a great apartment for 4 months through Finn. One thing though which may have helped was I paid the 4 months rental up front.
