Really, we should applaud Sanna Marin for being down to earth and close to the public in a way that many other politicians never will be able to, but instead they’re trying to drag her through the mud whenever they can for completely normal (just not for those old farts) behavior.
I for one would love to have a PM that enjoys life, goes to the same festivals I do, and is a very down to earth person (and at least to my bit of understanding also a competent politician and a very good representive of her country)
She needs better friends that understand the gravity and dignity of her current position. Also – a lot better security services that don’t let anyone with any electronic device in for her bunga bungas.
I’m not sorry. She’s the best looking government leader in a while. Plus, this isn’t Afghanistan.

I srsly cannot wrap my head around most of these comments. I know it “looks cool” and stuff, but the fact that this type of photos and clips are leaking Is terrible for country’s security. No matter if you are hot looking 40 yo female or grumpy 80 yo male perv.
It’s not about the partying, nobody should care, it’s the lack of situational awareness and safety procedures. Every politician makes dumb or “controversial” things – the point is not to get recorded, cuz this gives your opponents free ammo.

Gotta be honest, I’m a bit stunned by these comments. If this had happened under the lead of an old white man you all would be absolutely frothing at the mouth.

Do a thought experiment. Replace female PM with a slightly older white male PM and put him in a similar situation. If it still okay then it is okay. Somehow I doubt it though.

She’s definitely receiving more scrutiny for her actions than she would be if she was a guy. What happening in the footage though — the specifics of the situation, not the basic fact that she’s partying — is still troubling. Both of these can be true at once.
Something like a dude being all over her while she just sort of stands there and allows it is serious business for a married world leader. That’s potential blackmail material. Blackmail material is a security issue.
Politicians are humans, and I think it’s legitimately a positive thing for more of them to be portrayed and portray themselves that way, but what they do still matters and can have consequences.
This is how politicians become removed from people and start loosing touch. By being constantly afraid of their image and having to play a role all the time.
In no time at all she will start to weigh every opinion not in good or bad for her country but rather how it will effect her image.

I don’t know much about her, but the way the news comes out it reads like she’s on par with Donald Trump, Justin Trudeau, or Yoon Suk-yeol in terms of “not doing actual work”.
I don’t want my national leaders enjoying their lives, I want them getting grey from the stress of their job.
