  1. Sign up for this even if you don’t intend to follow through.

The weight of the numbers is the negotiating position, the higher the number goes the more pressure it creates to form a better settlement for us.

Once the genie is out the bottle of mass non-payment it’s going to be hard to get back to normal rip-off Britain. This terrifies the elite.

  2. Everyone talking about the practicalities of this (eg. being put on a prepay meter) seems to be missing the point of the campaign.

The campaign is demanding action from the Government (and, to a lesser extent, from the oil and gas companies). The aim is not to reach 1st October and be forced to get into a fight with your energy company, the aim is to show the Government that there are an enormous number of angry or desperate people and that they need to take action before 1st October.

Look at this in the context of polling earlier this week showing that [49% of young people think that rioting is justified](https://twitter.com/joncstone/status/1557291554112503809) as a reaction to these impossible energy bills.

If energy bills reach £4,000 plus and there’s no further Government help, a few million people won’t be paying those bills whether they would like to or not!

  3. Too few, but the truth is most people are scared of being harrassed by bailiffs. We can’t all sit at home waiting for the knock, to show off our amateur lawyer skills, whislt holding a mobile phone up to record everything. Many people don’t have that fight or tolerance for stress in them.

It’s the same with the BBC licence, you’d quite happily not watch anything they provide (except they claim you owe them if you so much as watch a completely separate live news-source on Youtube), but the fear of the bailiffs makes you say ‘fuck it, i can’t be bothered to resist, i may as well pay’.

  4. Come January it doesn’t matter if people are in this campaign or not. They won’t pay because they can’t pay, simple.

  5. This is gonna end up like the Kony thing. Except a bunch of poor people will have their meters replaced with prepay ones

  6. I honestly think the gas companies are pushing this themselves, then they’ll move you all over to pre-pay meters where they probably earn a lot more and your supply gets automatically cut off if not paid.

  7. Can’t wait for these gullible lefties to destroy their credit rating. There should be a penalty for being stupid.

  8. “One person, just one person does it they may think he’s really sick and
They won’t take him. And if two people, two people do it, in harmony,
They may think they’re both faggots and they won’t take either of them.
And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in
Singin a bar of Alice’s Restaurant and walking out. They may think it’s an
Organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day, I said
Fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice’s Restaurant and
Walking out. And friends they may thinks it’s a movement.”

  9. Hopefully those who don’t pay are punished to the fullest extent. Why should I pay my bills if they get away without paying theirs.
