  1. Is this absolute sham talking about the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries or something? What the fuck is he actually talking about like?

  2. Did I hear that bit at the end right. “They were the main driver in making sure houses are up to scratch”….. So making sure people weren’t living in mold riden hell holes

  3. Hang on a minute? He seems to think Sinn Fein brought in housing regulations, while not being in government?!! 🤷‍♂️

  4. Jays, if I could extend my reach like he could for a conclusion, I’d have beaten NASA to the moon.

  5. Basically just sounds like he is blaming SF for putting notice of how the high rents were going up and this FF fool is annoyed that their unfair regulations got pointed out?

  6. Sinn Fein this, Sinn Fein that. Come back to me when you’ve uncerimoniously fucked Robert Troy out of office and then I’ll listen to you, you corrupt fuck.

  7. Those poor landlords being vilified for their dodgy behaviour. SF should feel ashamed of themselves lol

  8. A circular has obviously been issued from Party HQ that this is the new narrative. The mean comments from renters and Sinn Féin are making the poor little landlords flee the market, and that’s why we have a crisis. There’s nothing to explain why the cost of *buying* a house continues to skyrocket, despite these supposed small landlords selling up. There’s also no evidence that there’s fewer properties being rented out at the moment, it’s just the number of individual landlords has fallen somewhat. And no, just because a landlord is someone’s granny, or a humble teacher supplementing their pension, does not make their situation okay. They’re all still price gouging bastards, and the fact they try to hide their rent seeking behind the fact they wanted more housing than they could use makes me sick.

  9. Between this outburst, Micheál Martin lying to the Dáil about the banks being bailed out and Ned O’Sullivan claiming that SF has infiltrated polling companies.

It’s becoming clear that FF deserves as much blame as FG for poisoning political discourse in this state. It’s becoming increasingly nasty, detached from reality and that’s largely being driven by the right.

    They are not normal parties.

  10. I’m not usually a SF Stan by any means, don’t really agree with them on a lot of things.. but this reeeeeks of bollocks even to me.

  11. Look I don’t like SF. Having said that is this guy’s argument that SF are at fault for the housing crisis because they wanting to improve (by publically calling for…. They were never in government) the absolute minimum standard of house you can rent to a person?

Has anyone seen the terrible standard of the average rental we currently have? And this Neanderthal wants to reduce the standards? How do we go lower from the current poor standard? Maybe we could remove any fire safety requirements from rentals? That way Robert Troy’s rentals will meet the new regulations….

If you want to attack SF on housing the only route you can really take is objections at a CC level. But even if SF deserves a portion of the blame, FFGs fingerprints are all over the current housing crisis. FF for absolutely decimating the market through corruption about ten years ago and FG for not building houses back fast enough to meet population growth.

  12. Ah yes, please tell me how a political party that has never been in power in the history of the country, are to blame for the current housing crisis that your party are doing nothing about.
Please Mr Fianna Fail TD man tell me more.

    Fucking sick of this shit

  13. If Micheal Martin shot someone tomorrow they would wheel this gasbag out to say SF sold him the gun and blame them for a shortage of bullets.

  14. if you had ANY brian at all as a FF’er you’d not bring up ANYTHING from 2010 till 2018. In fact just count your lucky stars you have anyone willing to invite you into a studio.

But to then talk about minimum standards required of properties for rent ‘making it imposible for landlords to rent’ he should have be thrown out a the fucking window.

  15. It’s like watching a primary school child in 3rd year explain what they thought of or learned from the Nicomachean ethics after handing them the book for a project.

Fucking inept and beyond their comprehension.

How are these turnips deserving of their office?

Absolute mind-meltingly insane how these people have been trusted with the state.

  16. Housing issue again and politicians again blaming each other and using people’s homes as bargaining chips. Let’s be honest FG, FF and SF all have a part in our current situation there are no clean hands in this at all.

What most people don’t take into account is that this housing crisis is caused by population growth and that demand has turned housing into a scares commodity which makes houses boom in price.

I think this country, as usual, has been left in a situation of catch-up where they build more houses another 100k want homes they get to that 100k then 300k more want homes and it snowballs and continues, you also have elderly living longer and healthier been a big factor of wealth disparities by generation and then you have the rental market encroaching on home ownership market, you have landlords wanting to expand where is becoming a thing when people sell their house they only want to sell to younger families so in turn fewer properties to rent and higher rent costs because remember it’s all bout quantity and demand.

I still think Ireland as a whole still feels burnt after 2007 with the ghost estates all over the country that crippled us to this day, so we may live in this limbo that we may not have enough houses for a while to come.

I do not see a solution to this issue unless population control is in place which I don’t like the thought of tbh.

  17. Never rob a bank with FF they’re like rats, they’ll throw you under the bus in the blink of an eye

  18. they should be grateful that sinn fein exist. what would they do without sinn fien. no one to blame, god forbid they have to take responsibility

  19. In 2012 Fine Gael made an executive decision to not build homes. What we need to do is catch up on that drop. If Sinn Fein pushed for legislation which deterred landlords four years later in 2016 , bad call by them, send them a memo, but as far as getting cheap political points getting, this is crypto basement stock cheap!

  20. FFG *constantly* act like they’re not in government. They act like SF is making all these policies when it is them and it has always been them. They own this.
