Hello! I have made this 3D rendered elevation based on a 1923 map from Muirhead’s Blue Guide to Switzerland and I thought of sharing it here with you.

  1. And here you have some more data about the image:

The elevation comes from the outstanding [swissALTI3D](https://www.swisstopo.admin.ch/en/geodata/height/alti3d.html) service, with a resolution of 0.5 metres.

Under [this](https://archive.org/details/switzerlandwithc00muir) link, you’ll find the entire Blue Guide to Switzerland from 1923. A true gem for those who enjoy digging old texts and maps.

The software used for this project are QGIS and Blender, both of them open source.

Have you ever been driving through these passes? Have you visited the Belvedere Hotel? If you have anything interesting/curious/fun to share about the area of interest in this map, please do so 🙂

Of course, any questions you may have, I’ll be around.

    Thanks a lot!
