Classic. Universities are now a business rather than a place of education so not surprised they got greedy and sent too many offers out.
This is not a new thing at all. Never guaranteed if you lived in or around Glasgow.
I’m personally affected by this. They told us it was guaranteed, and now like a month before the start of the year they have told us it is no longer guaranteed which is not fun, idk what I’m gonna do but I’ll have to find private accommodation
