Ah sure we’ll give Fine Gael and Fine Fail one more chance they’ll definitely change this time
*”they simply do not give a fuck”*
Lots of money helps the feeling pass by easier.
And around this time Leo starts saying SF equals Russia.
I hope the public are listening. These cunts have no interest in the well being of the electorate. None.
Tbh I think a point has been crossed where the public has descended in to complete apathy and cynicism, and the people in power have allowed the bubble they live in to completely misjudge the situation. Very much like the situation pre-Brexit in the UK – but there’s totally different dynamics here so it will be very interesting to see what it leads to.
It won’t make a difference to housing policy, but that guy will resign/be pushed for sure. He’s a liability to his party now.
And I’d lay money the next government will be SF/FF coalition.
I wonder what Dara Calleary thinks of all this
Sure they’re all at it /s
Ancient Greek model now.
A council of reluctant elders is randomly selected by lottery from within pools of experts on finannce, health, housing etc. all the way down through the ministries.
You are automatically entered into the pool and lottery for your area of expertise after you have served a certain amount of time and reached a certain level of seniority in your field.
Lobbying or attempting to become elected is an automatic lifetime ban from consideration.
Terms are limited to 4 years.
This completely removes the two biggest issues.
Short termism – there is no benefit to only delivering things that you will be in office to get the kudos for.
Cronyism – Anyone who wants to serve in govenrment is automatically the worst possible candidate.
nope, it is going to stay the same.
Fianna Fail & Fine Gael have let the side down massively on housing & healthcare but i still just cant bring myself to vote for Sinn Fein.
I have very little faith in Fine Gael or Fianna Fail but i genuinely believe Sinn Fein could set the economy back 50yrs if they came to power.
Its desperate times i’m afraid.
”*it’s a big club and you ain’t in it”*
Political optics or not, this better be examined from a legal standpoint. At best, it’s unethical, at worst its corruption and illegal.
Leo was under a huge amount of scrutiny regarding the leaked document and that was rightly investigated by the gardai.
This issue is far more serious. A minister has been caught trying to hide that he was personally profiting from public policy decisions he had an influence on. This kind of carryon brings us back to what FF were up to prior to the 08 crash.
As long as we don’t vote for these cunts, then they lose their job and all the perks that come with it. It’s the only way change will happen.
Keep the pressure on. I’m burning the ears of everyone. This is unacceptable and there must be accountability. I’m sick of being disappointed. We deserve better.
Fair play to The Ditch for bringing this to light.
Imagine this was the headline from a country that most people think is corrupt. A bandwagon of people here will be jumping on to it, to give an example of what corruption “really” means and how we don’t have this kind of thing here.
Proabbaly Sinn Feins fault
Not to mention this is all in the middle of the an bord pleanala shite!
Time for some vigilante justice, if they won’t punish their politicians we should.
No, because you’ll still vote for the same cretins.
Said it before, saying it again – don’t vote. By voting, you’re endorsing the system and endorsing the behaviour. Doesn’t matter what the name or party beside your 1, 2, or 3 is.
And dont bother posting bullshit like ‘if you don’t vote you can’t complain’ – that’s a coward argument. If you DID vote, you voted for this shit, and YOU can’t complain.
Does anybody on the Internet actually read the news
When do we as a country actually start realising the things that seem slightly corrupt actually add up to corruption.
Time to vote SF lads
This is the sort of behavior that leads otherwise decent people to build gallows.
I got turned down for a redundancy package that had previously been offered to me after my manager found out I was offered a job in another company that his wife was in line for. I stayed put and she got the job. This crap is everywhere.
Just vote for change!
You’re in for don’t rude awakening if you think Sinn Fein will be any different. They are the other cheek on the same arse.
So… what party will you be voting for in the next election?
Seeing how shit the country went after the recession I swore I would never vote FF when I could vote.
Everyone tried to convince me to vote for Troy, hes decent and he is a good local politician they said.
I am glad I kept my vow.
Do you recon they don’t give even a little fuck at this point because 1. They know nothing will come of it. 2. They know there times almost up and should make the most of it?
Tbh I can only say I’m ashamed my fellow country men and women give so little of a Fuck about us. They will keep on making promises they can’t keep. Keep on enriching them self of people they are meant to serve . Worst of all do they even have a plan beyond virtue signaling for the pile of shit starting to stack up?
Look I can sit here and say we are lucky because we are. Ireland’s a better place to live then a lot of other places. But that doesn’t excuse repeat terrible behaviour. I hate politics and every thing to do with it. I know even less. It’s just different people talking shit one after the other.
But I know it’s hard to find many people right now that are happy with how the country being run or not shocked by the carry on from people in power over COVID up untill now.
