Enkel ‘Belgian deal’ kan energiecrisis bedwingen

  1. I hope we will see a long term sollution.

A sollution that looks 50 years in the future.

They need to make energy more expensive. With the profit, they should subsidize only when it makes you more energy efficient.

People need to live closer/in to cities. Live in the middle of nowhere: pay for roads, wiring, sewage yourself.

People get rid of at least 1 car. Drive around all day: pay a couple of 100s every month.

People should be forced to renovate their homes up to the modern standards. Home prices need to and will drop for this.

  2. The whole thing is depressing to read because even if the suggested options all make sense you know they’ll never take place because of the little political games in this country. The greens are filled with fanatics who all think nuclear energy will lead us to the apocalypse, cd&v is so afraid of disappearing that they refuse to take any kind of responsibility, nv-a is ready to do anything to sabotage this country, even if this means misery for the Belgians, etc.

  3. Engie will continue to fuck us over and even in Flanders we’ll never cooperate.

The govt should help more people with putting solar/pumps. It’s a shame those subsides are cut in half when it matters for people who need it.

  4. Natuurlijk gaat engie kut doen over de kerncentrales, die zijn duurder om open te houden dan de gascentrales die ze willen bouwen.

    Sterk van Tinne

  5. ANd the worst part is this is self inflicted, if they had just gotten rid of this dumb nuclear exit belgium would have been in a much better position in every possible way.

  7. I heard earlier today that one of the issues is that energy producers can charge the “highest price” of their energy mix.

The way they explained is that, for instance, if their electricity is produced with a mix of 95% solar and 5% gasn the producer is still allowed to charge you the kwh rate for electricity as if 100% was generated by gas – hence (partly) the high prices.

However I’m not sure this is true as I can’t find a source for it, can someone enlighten me?

  8. Just place a heat pump, just buy an electric car, just add more solar panels, just buy a home battery, just insulate better, just suck up inflation, just suck up taxes, just buy an electric bike, … /sigh
