So recently Me and my brother got in an argument about if there was more litter in irish woods or UK woods, and so i searched for a video, and i found one, and there was lots of litter in it, since then I’ve been on a mission to find out how much litter is in the woods of every country.

So Danish people of reddit , How much litter is in Danish woods?

P.S. If you were wondering what video i was on about, this is it [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHkwguYOUYY&t=3s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHkwguYOUYY&t=3s)

Literarilly none. I actually started filming a few walks I did in northern Denmark, a couple of months ago. I have actually seen no garbage at all. Only 1 empty cigarette pack.
You can check my latest walk here

No litter whatsoever
It’s very different from forrest to forrest. But note that Denmark only really have 2-3 natural forrests left after some panicked politics in the 19th century after some lost wars where we tried to convert almost all land to farmland.
This means that woods in Denmark are either more park-like, with maintained pathways and bins or small patches of dense trees — often pine — used for farming trees and thus less of a cosy place for a picnic, but more of a place to walk the dog.
You’d surely see some cigarette buds either place, but tinfoil and such is more common in the prior. You’d surely also find McDonald’s packaging in either, I don’t know how that stuff gets everywhere even places 30+ km from a McDonald’s… 😑
But you are asking a good question! It would be interesting, if you’re into r/dataisbeautiful to set up some teams around the world and see how much trash/area they can collect, I don’t imagine theres any good or precise data on this and it would do some good! 👍
People are usually good at cleaning up after themselves in Denmark. Back when I was doing my military duty we needed to clean up everything from our camps, and this is the general consensus in this homogenized country.
Most likely depends on where the forrest is located, I don’t imagine a forrest out in the middle of nowhere has a lot of litter in it, but in forests near Copenhagen you could easily fill a big plastic bag with litter in a day **if** you are out looking for it.
There is no litter. People don’t run around the forests with McDonalds and candy bars here.
At least 3.
I am an avid geocacher and hiker, i get around in jutland a lot and especially geocaching takes me around in a lot of forests, i don’t see much garbage. but as soon as its near a bigger city or the highways there are more to be noticed that’s for sure. I went to Ireland some years ago and did a two week hike through wicklow county, i saw a lot of garbage litter laying around there though even though it was pretty far away from everything. I live in a city called Vejle at the moment which has some pretty big forests going through its northern part, and i rarely see litter there.
Depends where you look. If you are near a camp ground type area, you will usually find some trash. Along a foot path you will rarely find trash but the occasional cigarette butt does show up. If you go off path, you won’t see any trash at all.
Very wood’like
Some trees
Some leafs
An old couple fucking.
Avid hiker here.
In general, the Danes are really good at cleaning up after themselves. There are always those who just don’t care, but the general Danish hiking experience is quite clean and trash-free.
We have had problems with tourists leaving used toilet paper here on bornholm, don’t know if it happens elsewhere
