I have been looking at used motorcycles in [finn.no](https://finn.no) .. Often when I translate the description I come upon “veteran so cheaper to insure” . Can you explain what this veteran means and are there any rules regarding veteran motorcycles. I have mistaken it to something like museum registered in some countries where you only get to ride limited kilometers in a year.

  1. Veteran is 30 years old or older. I don’t have any mc or car that old, but a quick Google search telles me it’s limited to 5-6000 km pr year

  2. If the rules are the same for veteran motorcycles as for veteran cars, it means you pay pay less road tax for it – and you can import it without taxes.

You can drive a veteran car as much as you like, and I would think the same goes for motorcycles. What would limit the amount you can drive, is if you buy an insurance with limited milage, something some insurances for veteran vehicles have because many are not used that much. But you don’t have to buy one of those, you can insure it for unlimited kilometers in a year – it will just cost you more.
