In France, when autumn comes and tree leaves are falling, trains get late or even cancelled because tree leaves are slippery… I can’t even imagine if it were snowing.

They should have built overhead wires insted of the environmental heating system called third rail. There is als the risk to animals and humans getting near the tracks, that make third rails a problematic option in open areas.

Fun fact: The subway in Oslo is less in tunnels than the light-rail in Bergen.
I so much prefer the “third rail” option. Overhead wires create such an ugly aesthetic.
Does anyone know much about this particular style? It almost looks like the conductor is actually inside a box. And being raised off the ground like that, does it allow for higher voltages?
