If the garda who was sacked is telling the truth then it sounds like he did everything he could to fix an honest mistake.
Can’t imagine he’d risk everything for a Bluetooth speaker. They’re not exactly expensive.
There might be more to this if you read between the lines. His excuse is plausible, not ideal… but it’ll do. But a Bluetooth speaker going missing for 2 days doesn’t conjure up Garda Inspectors like some kind of black magic. And since the Garda in question didn’t get any heads up from any other Gaurds asked about it or whenever the lad that owned the car complained it leads me to believe this might not have been the first time things went “missing”. Might explain why the Drew was so keen to send that letter.
He obviously pissed someone off.
