Tere! Can someone help me identify these little insects that congregate on the corners and ceilings of my room? They only appear at night and seem to be very stupid. Looks as if there are several types as well.

  1. Bugs like a nice home for the same basic reasons you do. They want food, water, and shelter. If they can find these in your house, they’ll move in.

  2. It’s a quite common occurence, if you live next to a body of water or some forest, and leave your lights on and windows open during dark hours. If this bothers you, I’d suggest getting a bug net for your windows. It’s not fun cleaning up every morning.

  3. I can’t turn on the lights in my room because of them. As soon as there is a single light on then a swarm of different insects starts flooding my room.

  4. Those are no-biting mosquitoes (chironomus plumosus) light attracts them and some are so small, that even a 2 layer mosquito net does not stop them (personal experience).

  5. Try those pheromone trap things , I think they have it for these too, I wanted to buy pheromone traps for cloth moths, had a recent infestation. I think they are sticky traps but pheromone smell will trap them inside of it and they will die.
