I mean they are kind of holding justice at ransom, but that’s the point, that’s how strikes work and unfortunately it’s really the only recourse for workers who aren’t paid or treated fairly. Employers constantly hold their workers at ransom – “work or lose the income you rely on to live”. We can frame it all as ransom, Raab is such snake. Hopefully the general public won’t be moronic enough to fall for this pathetic ploy.

You can kick and whine all you like, people will not endlessly put up with being paid a shit wage Raab, no matter how much you villify or guilt trip them. Just because it’s a public service doesn’t mean you can treat the servants like doormats.
Easy for him to say, sitting on over £100,000 a year wage not including the tens of thousands in expenses he also claims.
Apparently everyone is at fault except the government. If its rail strikers, tube strikers, soon to be nurses , doctors etc. Its always the fault of the working man or woman going on strike . Hold on, is Boris also on strike because he is not working and unlike the people going on strike, he is still being paid.
The botched withdrawal from Afghanistan while he was floating around on a lilo in Greece should have been the end of that man’s career. But Johnson loved to surround himself with feeble mediocrities that he could play off against each other, and now he’s still hanging around like a stale fart.

It’s not the barristers holding the justice system to ransom – it’s actually the changes made to the legal aid system which both prevent people getting proper access to the legal system (unless, of course, they are rich) and strangle barristers income.
Pure smokescreen – it’s the Tories that set this up to happen. Another squeeze on incomes whilst they pocket the backhanders from their rich backers.
I’d LOVE to see MP wages drop sharply and not match inflation.
I’d love to see a ban on second jobs or investments.
Hit them int heir pockets- see how they like it.

If you look into what’s going on in that sector it’s fucking terrifying
That’s fucking rich coming from the party who withhold disability benefits for as long as a year until a tribunal can be held.
Oh and ~80% of said tribunals are won by the claimant might I add.

We are seriously heading towards an utterly broken justice system which will take years to fix unless legal aid is properly supported and the criminal bar made a more viable career path.
