“puzzling”, they don’t have the possibility to store that much gas and if it is not delivered to Europe they need to do something with it and it is much safer to burn it controlled than shut it down and hope that nothing happens (like they to in the US, were Methane goes uncontrolled out of leaks from shut down plants) and you can start it again (which you don’t know until you do it)
All those valuable molecules should come home instead.

We have people suffering from energy poverty meanwhile across the border the gas is burned because it cannot be sold at a profitable price.
