Absolutely heartbreaking. Hearing the circumstances just now from the chief constable. Someone was being chased by a gunman and forced their way into Olivia’s house and while trying to escape the gunman was firing shots – some of which hit Olivia.
Hope justice is found for this family, I can’t begin to imagine their pain.
Just watching the police conference now and here’s what I’ve heard so far.
Gunman pulls out a gun on two blokes, chases one of them. Bloke being chased manages to force himself into this little girl’s house and gunman tries to follow. The mother is unable to stop it, gunman fires, bullet hits mother’s wrist and continues on and hits the little girl. Gunman flees. Chased bloke’s mates turn up in a car, pick him up and take him to hospital. The girl dies.
Jesus listening to press release is shocking. Poor kid even more so poor mum.
I don’t even have the words to describe how mortified I am. I think I’m going to utter a short prayer for the little light’s family, and hope her mother finds peace eventually.

I hope they catch the scumbag that did this and that they get a very lengthy prison sentence.
The lack of forethought is what angers me here. It’s like the idiots who shoot somebody dead over a robbery for a couple of quid. Like if this guy was a sadistic child killer then… that’s evil but at least makes logical sense. By the sounds of things though, he was a fucking idiot who’s idiocy cost the life of an innocent child. If he would have thought for a second, calmed down, and realised that nothing is worth taking the life of a child and spending much of the rest of his life (if not all of it) behind bars

Jesus fucking christ. I don’t know what the circumstances were involving the fleeing man, but in a situation where you’re stood before a barrel of a gun facing oblivion rushing towards you, how many of us can say that we wouldn’t, in sheer terror, flee into the nearest available refuge.
This is terrible. I actually cannot comprehend the idiocy of the gunman that they would continue to attempt to murder the guy after they’d already fled into a residence.
You read the story and it is just completely heart breaking. They family had nothing to do with it the case of opening the front door and a sensely gunman just firing random shots into the house hit the mother and killed the kid.
I expect this is all down to drugs and liverpool gangland turf wars. I hope the local population speak out and rat on this killer and dont keep quiet like they have on other cases. I understand people are scared but if people dont speak out and tell the police more people will die.

It is like very bad movie script- but it is very bad reality. I can’t stop thinking about that poor innocent wee girl parents.
Police don’t care enough to even realise a complete description.
They don’t say what colour or ethnicity gunman was.
This makes me jump to the conclusion that he probably wasn’t white but he very well could be.
5’7″ slight and male is the complete physical description.

Police are asking the gunman to hand himself in, as if he gives a shit about what he did. He will probably just blame the guy who ran into the house. I bet his bigger concern is finishing the job he started.

I don’t understand this situation… how did the men see the SECOND she opened the door? Did she not see the men running full force at her and her home? It’s like she just stood there and let them run up while she had the door open. I don’t understand how she didn’t see them running at her and the front door

It’s just so fucking senseless. You can’t even say something about her being in the wrong place at the wrong time (not that is matters where she was). She was in her OWN HOME, where she should’ve felt completely safe. The men had absolutely no connection to this girl or her family. The house just happened to be there and she just happened to be inside… it’s absolutely senseless and so heartbreaking. I hope she gets justice. I’d also say I hope the family will find some peace, but I can’t imagine that’s going to be easy.
