  1. This memorial complex in “Victory Park”, Riga, Latvia erected in 1985 to commemorate the Soviet Army’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. During World War II Latvia was first occupied by the Soviet Union in June 1940 and then was occupied by Nazi Germany in 1941–1944 after which it was re-occupied by the Soviet Union.

Russia Ukraine war finally gave the government the needed push to tear this slab down.

  2. That’s a major L if you ask me

Say the soviets had planted some big ass monuments in us to remind us of our defeat, i wouldn’t want them teared down, history is important

+ the statue looked cool as fuck

edit: you can downvote me all you want, won’t really do anything lol, atleast give a valid argument

  3. Tabula rasa, they will probably do the same with the monuments in Germany, it’s time to leave the past behind and look towards a better future.

  4. Destroying a historic building commemorating the soldiers who freed Europe from Nazism (many of whom were Ukrainians, btw) is sure to make Putin tremble in his sleep.

Sorry, but no matter what your country’s relationship with Russia (and the Soviet Union) is, the Red Army were the good guys in the fight against Germany.
