Illustrative Hand-drawn Map of Sweden I Made with a Unique Orientation

  1. Hello everyone! I am currently working on a massive Illustrative Hand-drawn Map of Europe project and just wrapped up Sweden. I tried to capture this incredibly beautiful country best I could without ever having been there. Shown are cities, landmarks, roads, and natural features such as rivers, forests, and mountain ranges. Total drawing time was 26 hours plus many hours of research. The orientation of the map is different with north located to the right/bottom right. I wanted to show Europe from a unique perspective not shown in traditional maps. My website is on my Reddit profile. Enjoy!

  2. Very cool! I see on your web page that you plan to sell prints when it’s done – if that happens I’m definitely getting one! I can sit for hours and look at maps.

  3. This is amazing!

I’m a big fan of the board game Carcassonne and your style reminds me of that (especially the cities)

    Keep it up!

  4. Hate to nitpick cause you’ve done such a great job, but the Danish island is called Bornholm, not Borholm, in case you wanted to know

  5. It’s hard to tell without seeing the whole map, but something seems off about the placement of Denmark in relation to Gothenburg. Maybe it’s just due to seeing it from a different angle, but I can’t get it to match up.

The style is really cool though, thanks for posting!
