I swear at some point the UK government are going to need to build a new economy from scratch.
I am not sure if this is so different from anywhere else in the world right now. I think the article is not specific enough to say anything useful as demand for and value of *some* things has increased.

Housing market is the safest. Prices will always go up and media like to highlight how high the prices are going. The wage slaves will pay any price and get mortgage bigger than their salary. The govt will 100% back the market. It will bail out everyone. There are lots of levers it will pull to get the market sizzling again.
