Was this during his half-arsed, hostage video referendum campaigning or dedicated attempts to get Article 50 and Brexit over the line?
That man voted Leave. Guaranteed.
Sorry but they did not just start to discharge sewage because of Brexit they have always done to release water pressure on the system when we get heavy rain. It is used rarely and should not be done at all but nothing as changed directly due to Brexit.
He is right that the EU policy on clear water did force them to clean up the beaches years ago but they had they had this overflow policy in place when we where in the EU so nothing as changed.
Didn’t Corbyn support Brexit?
Hmmmmm. Maybe you shouldn’t have been so keen for Brexit to happen then, Jeremy.
This is really, really funny – first everyone’s literally obsessed with the man – “he’s unelectable! They said – which of course he is, by virtue of not supporting the interests of capital.
But he was right – about Brexit, Boris, the Tories (both as a government and having no solutions to any of the problems), Russian aggression, corporate profits, selling off the NHS, the rightward shift towards fascism, and a bunch of other things – so much so that it’s literally newsworthy.
And yet – in the comment here, nothing but people complaining “haven’t we heard enough about him? Why do we care?”
Well indeed – you tell us, seeing as the obsession didn’t start with us – maybe it has something to do with the fact that he had all the ideas and all the policies which would have mitigated the shit show we’re currently experiencing – as that does appear to be the objective reality.
But he’s “unelectable” so no point worrying about it! He’s never going to threaten your profits, calm the fuck down.
Particularly British experience to all know exactly what the solution to the problem is (both before, during and after) but do absolutely nothing about it, and bang on about how much we hate the guy who told us how it was all going to go down.
Maybe it has something to do with our penchant for whinging? Can’t complain if the problem’s fixed….
Maybe should have fought against it then.
I voted for him but I regretted it. We share much of the same philosophy and politics but he surrounded himself with a team that were stuck in the dark ages. He himself didn’t speak early enough on Brexit and what voting for it would do to the UK. In fact as far as Im aware he supported leaving the EU. He was not committed to Remain and as such lost the respect of many who were. Also his past allegiances made him an easy target for Murdochs media.
It’s not enough to be a good person, you need to be a slippery political animal and a statesman or stateswoman. He is neither.
Because he’s always been sooooo supportive of the EU
What a joke. If he thought it was a bad idea, perhaps he should’ve lifted a fucking finger to oppose it?
43 months between the referendum and his removal without a single pro-EU (let alone pro-remain) speech, interview, march, article, tweet, post or anything else.
It would be impossible for him to have done less as he did absolutely nothing.
Seems to me everything that the torys and the right wing press and commentors said would happen under corbyn is happening right now under the torys
The Tories will find a way to blame him then.
I suspect Environmentalists for Europe might have been first
February 2016
>Britain risks becoming the “dirty man of Europe” again with filthy beaches, foul air and weak conservation laws if it leaves the European Union, a group of leading environmentalists warned on Wednesday.
A shame he didn’t campaign harder against it. A tiresome relic.
When Brexit hit the fan and you know they hit hard. The good news is, people realising they have been fooled by brexiteers and now it’s never too late to get rid of tories. Unlike Putin or chairman Xi where they dig their own graves and keep digging deeper and deeper
And then did fuck all to stop it. Fuck Corbyn he’s a geopolitical pussy who wouldn’t be sending weapons to Ukraine (he has said as much) so he needs to get in his lada and fuck right off
He predicted the space shuttle disaster and Chernobyl, too
How many miracles do devotees need to have ascribed to a religious figure before they’re officially declared a saint?
Along with every other person with their head screwed on
A definite stance on Brexit from Corbyn and Labour on the run up to the election might have helped us avoid this Tory shitshow though
If he knew this would happen, makes it weird he supported and waved through brexit. Or are we going to rewrite history to suit?
Jeremy Corbyn was also on national television waving the Conservatives’ plan to gut the NHS, and everyone laughed at him and said he was fear-mongering.
Well, you’re not laughing anymore, are ya?
I voted Labour back when it was his election, but what makes him truly unelectable are his foreign policies in regards to war.
In this day and age, ignoring it and complete pacifism just doesn’t work. The amount of extra people dead due to our inaction in the Ukraine-Russo War if Corbyn was Prime Minister doesn’t bear thinking about.
The Tories are completely fucking useless cunts when it comes to almost everything, but I support their actions towards Ukraine completely.
Yeah, he may have said that at some point, but he was clearly *for* Brexit. He literally did the absolute minimum to campaign against it, and that was only when put under considerable pressure by the party.
My politics align with his, but don’t make him out to be some perfect messiah type figure who was right about everything. He was a well known Euro sceptic and bears some responsibility for Brexit given his lacklustre support and the fine margins that were apparent in the end. Not the perfect leader that revisionists would have you believe.
Deflection away from Mogg getting everything wrong seems to have started.
This solves everything.
Brexit caused everything according to leftists 😂
yeah so mission accomplished for Corbyn then, his anti EU views and refusal to give any opposition to brexit was a major cause of this happening
They said vote for him and everything happening now would happen! 🤣 still they say it would be worse with him……yeah sure
What did the water companies do before Brexit? Use buckets?
They predate Brexit, so not really a meaningful prediction.
I thought Corbyn was anti EU
English and Welsh beaches not Scottish or Northern Irish ones.
This man was right about everything.
Why did we let the media destroy him with lies!
Broken brexit Britain, surrounded by shit, Literally
Jeremy Corbyn was against the tabloids and the oligarch owners and wanted to reduce their power. That is why he became ‘unelectable’.
Tony Blair only got in because he pledged himself to Rupert Murdoch on one fateful night.
The Conservatives go by the advice of the papers and what they want. When an idea is spun, you’ll see it in the news many days before it’s adopted.
When you look down the tabloid rabbit hole you realise everything, even down to public opinion, is by what they manufacture.
Every day it feels more and more like Corbyn is to the UK what Al Gore is to the US. Warned us about an oncoming shitshow, lost an election he frankly should not have lost, turned out to be right about everything, and could have mitigated most of it.
This has been said multiple times but I thinkbits always important to just keep reminding people that the country is ran by the media. Who owns the media, who lines their pockets, secures the media’s interests? Oh look… its the right wing tory government.
Corbyn, is actually one of the only people who has the British public in his best interests. Yet, during his election campaign he had his own party revolting against him and the media backing a power hungry, privately schooled, crotch sniffing, bumbling idiot.
Not really much more to say on the matter other than don’t be a sheep to the narrative of the mainstream media that is owned by those who don’t care. Do your own research and build your own opinions.
