Lincolnshire Police take girl to hospital over ambulance delay

  1. Why is this news? Do people think after a decade of deep cuts to all emergency services, that police can rely on ambulance and vice versa?

  2. I work as a dispatcher for a police force and this happens every. Single. Day.

The fact they’re reporting it in this manner shows just how clueless everyone is and blind to the fact that all emergency services are currently failing and people are dying because of it.

  3. As others said this literally happens all the time. Police have to transport and then run the risk of serious consequences if someone dies on route. Waiting for an ambulance is near impossible.

  4. It’s sadly become absolutely common for adults to wait this long, but for a child found down with possible cardiac issue to not receive an ambulance still shocks me.

  5. Police officer here:

This isn’t really news we do it all the time.

Ambulance regularly calls police for people in cardiac arrest as they haven’t got the resources to send.

  6. Had a call out due to a welfare check with a male taking an overdose on beta blockers. 4 hour wait for ambulance so we took them ourselves on a blue light run. Patient went unconscious and shit himself on the way, doctors said he’d have died if it was any longer.

  7. It’s a bit worrying if the general public don’t know that this is happening every day because the Ambulance service and the hospitals are terribly under-resourced.
