Cost of living: 700 doctors could leave Welsh NHS over pay – union

  1. I looked up the total numbers of doctors in NHS Wales. I don’t know if I’m reading this wrong, but apparently there are only about 2k Doctors in the scheme. Sounds devastating.

  2. We’ve lost people from every area: nurses, doctors, radiologists, physiotherapists, mental health workers and so on.

We lost people because of efficiencies (sorry, cost cutting), Brexit, pay and general working conditions.

We can’t get new people because that would require the accountants, business consultants and managers admitting they got things wrong (stil unsure why we need so many external business consultants….hmmm), basic training of staff and even things such as losing the nursing bursary and requiring student nurses to work as if they were fully trained to cover our shortages (and then claiming it is part of their training = no pay) all contribute to this.

This isn’t just making the NHS unworkable for political dogma, this is wholesale vandalism of everything for some politcal gain (follow the money).

  3. This is what complete privatisation of the NHS will look like. The idea that “British people will never let it happen” is purest bollocks

  4. I don’t think people realise how important importing skilled labourers is. America realises this and still pays skilled workers very well. Very soon (already happening) no skilled immigrant will want to come to the UK because of how shit the pay and working conditions are. At that point the UK is totally screwed.

  5. Honestly, good on ’em.

I’m all for everyone crippling this fucking country if it means workers get more respect and fairer pay and working hours.

It’s not a return to the 70’s if we actually learn our fucking lesson this time.
