The whole abortion issue came to the fore after the decision taken in the USA. Let’s take a look in Cyprus:

  1. Koukouma made the wisest remark no wonder her surname is koukouma. İ don’t like abortions but in serious cases when the mother is adamant in having an abortion the law wouldn’t very likely stop her and abortions performed by unqualified personel in a non-standart environment without necesary equipment can be fatal both for the child and the mother. İ don’t know what the law is, i would be happy if Somebody can explain.

  2. Why the hell would the father have a say in the decision (I understand a couple would discuss it but wbu if the woman was raped?).

Also what smile and kick? Within the first 3 months the fetus is barely formed into an actual baby so i doubt it can do that.

  3. There’s always going to be anti-abortion politicians. The rhetoric is the same no matter the country.

Luckily the legislation passed and we became a little bit less backward socially.

  4. Why do rightist immediately become humanist when the topic is a barely formed embryo. Is it because they see the citizens as cows that need to reproduce. If they care so much about life why do they not give 2 fucks about the already alive and conscious. Why do they not care about any animal life. Very hypocritical of them..

If you are a poor refugee seeking a better life well mate fuck you and your little kids. You are valued less than a ball of meat that did not develop yet. (Unless you are Ukrainian, and pass the colour test)

  5. I think the position of the Green Party is not well represented here. The other MP (Theopemptou) was part of the team drafting the law.

  6. The real reason behind the decision probably is that they saw women just crossed to North Cyprus for abortion where it is legal since long.

  7. Idiotic people make idiotic decisions.

It’s is woman’s right to decide, not the governments.

And fuck church and what they believe

    It’s 21st century.

We don’t need this USA feudal time laws in Europe.

  8. So if i understand this correctly Cyprus government is against aborions because it’s a waste of human life…
In my opinion since the State decided that a woman that doesn’t want the baby should still have it, then the State should pay for the birth expenses and for the upbringing of that child untill it’s 18 years old.
What gives the State the right to impose giving birth on someone under the pain of going to jail and then wash it’s hands and pat itself on the back as a “job well done”. If Cyprus government feels responsible for the unborn children let them also take full care of then once they are born.

  9. Karen Papodopolodus: “I just slept with 7 different smelly men who deposited their infected yellow semen into my roast beef looking snatch. Seems I am pregnant, thankfully I have a subscription service to the abortion clinic and can visit every 6 months to dispose of the demon between my legs. Oh and if I have 4 more abortions I get a free latte coffee, just have to tear off the token from the thingie”
