None of these people would’ve voted Tory anyway. Unfortunately for some tax cuts are on their way, not tax raises. People will be relying on themselves more than they are used to
Hopefully some of the “I’ve never voted types” will reconsider
A certain Kaiser chiefs song comes to mind
It really is time for this, unfortunately.
I’ll be there. Protesting in person and with my money. You can’t budget your way out of this mess.
Potential energy bills of £3500 AFTER the government’s help is simply not mathematically possible. Over the course of a year, if I worked 60 hour weeks, it’d take over 2 MONTHS to pay ONLY my energy bill. Rising to 3 months worth of 60 hours a weeks in just April. This isn’t theory either, I’ll be doing this soon just to make ends meet.
I am fucking furious. I take care of vulnerable people, its a job tories would sneer at and wouldn’t survive doing for more than 3 minutes. It’s understaffed, vastly underpaid, and thankless. And they expect me to bend my arse over a pensioner’s oil-slicked knee and say thank you for letting me work 60 hours a week sir, otherwise how could I heat my home for the less than 10 hours a day I spend there?
Why are we waiting to take action? We should have been rioting months ago.
Great! Lets put pressure on the government to get those interest rates up to sort out this mess.
In the UK I’d welcome protests if I was in government. Releases the pressure valve a bit and does naff all.
Good. More power to them and us as a country
The revolution will not be televised.
Calm down folks we only gotta wait a week or so for our 79p saving oh glorious lizzys gonna give us.
Anyone have a link on details for the March’s?
There’s zero real Information about this protest on the article.
I’m struggling to find anything on Google about this too
“Look at all these Far-Right Radicals trying to overthrow our Democratic Government.” – BBC probably
There won’t be a riot. The UK’s apathy is legendary.
What’s the date? The article doesn’t mention it?
Blind rage and tribal mentality’s can quickly escalate a situation. I’m all for protesting, but protesting leads to
Riots, riots lead to revolution, revolution can lead to the darker side of human nature and indiscriminate bloody violence.
The problem is what do you do with a rotten temple other than pull it down?
Tax the rich is so stupid, they’re already being taxed they just do things, usually lawfully to avoid the levels of tax they may otherwise pay. They avoid chunks of tax through charitable or community based investment.
Sometimes it’s technically unlawful but that’s the nature of loopholes for you. And which rich people anyway? Thanks to a lot of the rich there are projects all across the country that are being funded by them so that they can put on public shows and events which help develop skills to do more.
It’s not as simple as just tax the rich, which ones?
I think the message should be more like ‘revise the tax avoidence loopholes’. Give rich people an incentive to invest more into the communities by reducing their tax or something else. What we need is for the money to be reinvested throughout our infrastrucutres which is already being done, but could be done better maybe.
I know this is probably unpopular but had it not being for these rich people a lot of peoples careers wouldn’t be possible, speaking from personal experience, we rely on this funding to be able to begin our paths and allow us to start earning our own money.
