Short twitter tread explaining why the cost of renewable electricity is shooting up
A lot of people asking the reasonable question – why is the price of renewable electricity going up? Wind and sun aren't getting more expensive. The reason is, the price of electricity is set by the most expensive generator… https://t.co/iuBUHdQmBN

Crystal clear and calls out that adding more renewables to the grid will help bring down the price.
The Green Party deserve a lot of blame and have a large role in the undermining of our energy security and high gas prices.
This is U.K. but I believe exactly the same solutions would apply here. How to fix the energy crisis explained in 90 seconds.

We need to absolutely carpet the Irish sea with wind turbines. Thousands of the things.
In my estate there is around 400 houses, every single one has 2 to 6 solar panels (2 for houses with heat pump and 6 for gas heated homes). Why gov wouldnt push to cover the roofs with panels?! Houses have ready infrastructure but no one is interested in it… why builders arent made to cover new houses in panels?! According to builders of my home ‘it has only two panels because it was enough to get A2 rating’. Maybe someone should look at the ratings and change it a bit? Less power houses use less power grid has to buy from coal and gas burning UK suppliers and price will fall down instantly.
Might be a stupid question, but what are the drawbacks to making data centres start putting up the money for wind infrastructure?
