Hanging a lamp and putting hook right in outlet

  1. Hi, I recently moved into a new apartment and am currently installing a new lamp. Connecting the cables was easy thanks to another post and the lamp works. However, most danish lamps are hung with an extra hook close to the outlet. My outlet however had a hole that looked as if it was made to put the screw for the hook right in (see picture). However as I am not familiar with electricity and afraid to break something, I was wondering if the installation I have in the picture is safe. Thank you very much for your help.

Edit: I followed the instructions in [that video](https://youtu.be/9FdxWulC7KQ) posted by @Spooknik to properly install my lamp now. Thank you all for your help.

  2. Isn’t there a cover thats supposed to go on top of it? If there is only a hole for the wire in that, i’d probably not do it. I’d personally be more comfortable, getting more distance between the live wires, and the hanging “hook”.

  3. The hole you screwed that wire holder into is for holding the cable in place but it’s missing the plastic part and the little screw called an “aflastning” in danish, I’ll take a picture when I get home if you want

  4. It seems to me that the hook is perfectly superfluous if you have no interest in displacing the lamp.
    – provided that you have the *relief/aflastning* handy, of course…
