Don’t forget, the UCU marking boycott is still in effect at some universities. After years of industrial action, the marking boycott is the only thing that has produced real concessions from universities. I think more strikes are due this autumn, with the boycott expiring in early October. This action isn’t just about pay, it’s also about pension cuts, workplace discrimination, and job insecurity (e.g. short-term or zero-hours contracts) for teachers and researchers.
