Did he get up off the sun lounger or did they just move his hand on the paper while he was passed out drunk?
*approves asking someone else to fund it.
Why can’t we pay for our own infrastructure?
This will end up costing hundreds of billions
I think we need at least 5 of that, not 1.
Once it’s built, we’ll “sell” it to a French Multinational who will jack up the unit cost while scaling back production to keep prices high.
And I’m guessing the contract to build is going to his mates?
Amazing he can’t ‘make major policy decisions to help out the most vulnerable but if you give hin a big enough bung, he will bend over for big business.
Oh so he’s not doing major policy decisions unless he is?
Boris and nuclear should not be in the same sentence.
As someone who knows the area very well, nobody local wants it and itll destroy a lot of local tourism for years to come…but its not like the tories have ever thought about anyones needs but their own.
Hey. Just a friendly reminder that nuclear energy is the way forwards wether the Tories or labour implement it. Thank you.
You can always trust a Tory to fill their pockets on their way out.
Can sign off on this but anything else needs to wait for new PM.
kthen
This being the nuclear power plant the environment agency advised against building because there’s insufficient fresh water available during construction of operation. Super.
It should always be cheaper in the long run for government to either borrow the money or collect it from taxation than it will be from any sort of PFI system in the same way as buying a telly is cheaper than getting one on HP, part of the reason taxes are so high now is because we’re having to pay for all the schools and hospitals that Gordon Brown didn’t pay for.
Oh so he does have time to do some work, wonder how much they paid him?
Finally! Now what about the other fifteen of them that we needed to start building 10 years ago?
Also, any chance he’ll keep his promise to look at removing the ‘sin taxes’ before he rides off into the sunset?
So he can take SOME decisions before his new successor then…defo backhander here and one he was hanging around for
From the BEACH?
Sizewell that ends well.
Leftist tears
Long as it’s not going to be built and run by China it’s a good idea
I’m not a massive fan of Boris to say the least, but in case you hadn’t noticed, we have a massive energy crisis on its way. If they had all pulled their fingers out, and got on with this, we would be in a much better position now.
Wasn’t he on holiday?
He’s doing something. Something I sort of agree with.
Odd.
Its a start…but just a start. Pro or anti nuclear, it doesn’t matter. In the space of around 5 years the UK will have went from 8 operating nuclear power stations to potentially 1. We need to replace those big generation sites. We need more renewable as well, but we also need the big base load generation. We need to get the fimger out now and announce more.
