Nose is less sensitive with age so they don’t know they’re drowned in it
My grandad used to sit in a room with a fire on no matter what the temperature was outside with the widow closed. I would prefer the smell of perfume to his combo of BO and turf smoke.
I assumed it was to hide the smell of wee that every old person seems to have.
