Why didn’t you build a prefecture first? It gives a lot of money per day boosting your economy. You can always build elves later ( HOMM3 reference)
I live less than 50-60 kilometres away from Zakopane. Certainly haven’t been there but the view is incredible. I’ve never lived in such a beautiful place before. The mountains are breathtaking, at first I couldn’t believe I would get used to it!

Zakopane to kicz i bezguście. Zdewastowana widoki bilbordozą, chińskie plastikowe ciupagi i tubylcy z 19 wieku. Nigdy więcej.
Polska piękny kraj
I drove there once. 800km one way. I didn’t plan for it. I woke up in the middle of the night grabbed my hiking backpack and went on the road. This was at the peak of turist season and getting accomodations there was impossible. I took a walk through the town just to see the crowd and some pretty interesting architecture. I even took a haircut in a local barber. I slept in my car and when I woke up in the rainy morning, I checked the weather for the next couple of days and the forecast was total shit. Without to much thinking I drove back home another 800km.
