Imagine what Tukey could have been if they had another Ataturk now.
Nice of them to let them in. I didn’t know they got that many. I assume they were not all, but mostly, Jews. Imagine what Turkish universities could have been if Turkey had treated all those Jewish scientists better, and built up to be world-leading in so many areas. I imagine they ended up in USA or Israel later on.
