I was wondering how people feel about it now after the invasion.
Flag change- yeah, maybe. If most people would want it why not. At the same time it represents our slavic roots and that’s the history that’s not gonna change. But we make our own choices so this doesn’t make us russian in any way.
Monuments- again, I’m not a fan of erasing history. But I would very much like to see at least the soviet symbols banned and taken from the monuments, making them focused on telling the history- not glorifyng ideology.
Some less significant could be erased to make room for better use (Kosice- Namestie Osloboditelov) , but some such as Dargov should be kept as they are telling us incredible stories about past wars- a silent reminder of not so distant brutal history.
I would be all for removing all Soviet/communist monuments, street names, statues, all memorabilia. I have no problem with changing the flag if it contains mementos of the totalitarian terror regime (I’m no expert on the flag). To me it’s comparable to removing Nazi symbols in Germany. Unfortunately, pro-communist/pro-Soviet sentiments are hardwired in the government as well as the general public, making this unlikely to happen anytime soon.
I would rewrite text on WW2 monuments to be more as “War is bad, sometimes friends are friends and sometimes are invisible enemies. Past action doesn’t define friend for future.” kind of meaning.
Rename streets only if the person action was bad and urelated to bring peace his whole life. Just because someone was a Soviet General, doesn’t mean he is abad person
No. We should definitely appreciate the Soviet struggle and their victory thanks to which entire nations, quite possibly including us, managed to avoid complete annihilation.

Well I would probably just add monuments commemorating the brutality of Socialism, when you weren’t on it right next to it and texts for context. For a change of flag, I don’t particularly enjoy our current flag, but Czechoslovak flag or it’s derivatives would no longer fit. While it doesn’t really represent me I am ok with that and see no immediate reasons to change it. Tricolor has done nothing to anybody and it still represents Slavic culture in general. RuSSian orcs prefer Z and red color much more intensely. That’s it. If we really feel the need to change anything we can mix the color sequence. But I think we have enough confused people as it is 😂
Soviet monuments can continue to get rusty just like their ideas and ideals. Nobody cares.

Why would we change the flag? There is a lot of soviet monuments. Slavin is one of them. I would maybe change it a little.
The reason why i am bringing up the flag, because it bares the Russian flag as its base.
It has been a topic in the past to have ti redesigned [https://www.reddit.com/r/czech/comments/tx5qds/redesign_of_the_slovak_flag_slovakia_should_have/](https://www.reddit.com/r/czech/comments/tx5qds/redesign_of_the_slovak_flag_slovakia_should_have/)
