When I was a lad, student nurses used to get paid. Which might be, you know, incentivising?
Yes, I want a career where I can get spat on, shat on, vomited on, pissed on, yelled at and assaulted by patients. To then be screamed at, belittled, and written up by horrid bosses and all of this for minimal pay, shite hours and long days. Where do they sign up?
Clapping doesn’t pay the bills I’m afraid.
Maybe if they weren’t under paid and overworked to the bone more people would want to do nursing.
Have they tried paying a fair wage. I hear that does wonders for recruitment.
Try paying nurses then. Why would anyone want to work somewhere where they have to work 2 years for free?
What’s the exchange rate of £ to claps 👏 these days??
Why would anyone want to go into Nursing with the pay they get?
If it was now actually possible for me to do so, I’d consider retraining to become one.
Pay them more, give them the respect they deserve and bring back the NHS paid for degree. Maybe they’d train then.
