  1. I hate how cynical I get when I see posts like that. Like did he do it just to post about it? Did he do it because he’s genuinely kind or did he just pretend to do it? I’m going to choose he’s just a kind person that was helping out a child in this case

  2. I love when you’re in a charity shop and the volunteer doesn’t know what to charge you so you come up with some grandiose figure, and the cashier lights up, like suit you sir, can I maybe throw in a few extras for that price.

You feel like a millionaire, when in realty you’ve just spent a tenner on two wolf tones records that probably won’t play, half a Stephen King book and a battered mini of Mace Windu’s lightsaber.

  3. Would he have done it if the kid was African? There doesn’t seem to be as much fake internet points in that.

edit: the fact that this will be the most interacted with comment shows ye are too angry to internet today and your psyop is not working. racist pricks. lol.

  4. Delighted to have some positive posts re : the refugees (not immigrant) from the Ukraine. I broke down in tears after seeing a wee lad the same age as my eldest peering out an upstairs window when we donated some items. All that’s needed is some kindness and understanding

  5. Thank god she wasn’t trying to buy a chocolate bar, seriously, outside of a Freddo or animal bar, what can you get for under a euro?

  6. Ah, charity shops – I will admit, I do actually feel bad when I steal from them. “Full Sopranos boxset for 6 euro? Hmm free would be better”.

  7. My neighbour has a small rural hotel. He has Ukrainians in it now. He is very kind to them, he drives them around the place, hangs out with them. He is even providing sex to a few of the women. Top guy really

  8. This is why I moved to the island of Ireland from Scotland. You guys are truly the sweetest and most generous of people. It rings of back home, but you guys are warmer.

  9. Had both my ty ball this year and I’m attending my friends debs, I needed 2different dresses for each.

€15 total thanks to the charity shops.

    I love them

  10. Absolutely amazing all the negative comments accusing you of ‘ripping off the charity’ by people who very clearly don’t know what charity means. Thick as mince!
Keep up your good charitable work mate.

  11. I used to get this from the shop all the time in Lisburn. Didn’t realise the workers knew more about home life than I thought. Would walk out with bags if sweets and crisps for a pound

  12. Thank you for showing your humanity and for helping people in their darkest hour. People like you ensure that the haters can never win.

  13. I was having a garage sale years ago. Little girl arrives on her bike and has a thoughtful walk around and leaves without buying anything.

She comes back a few minutes later with her little sister on the bike with her. She tells her sister that they will both look for presents to give their mother on her birthday.

Let me tell you they made a killing on nick-nacks for a total cost of about $1.23 U.S.

  14. Such a lovely thing to do. Charity shop workers are the soundest people out there. Always a bargain to be found.

On the other side of it, and nothing to do with the content of the original post, I hate stuff like this when some shitehawk PR company masquerading as one of those clickbait-type websites steals content like this and reposts it on their own socials. Really annoys me.

  15. After that ridiculous video of yer man in cork just being awful in the charity shop, I really needed to hear this, lovely to be reminded that we still have thoughtful and generous people around us! Love this story!

  16. In Navan I couldn’t find a decent looking pair of good quality sunglasses for less than 140eur (I thought sports direct were supposed to be cheap!) And then I remembered: charity shops are class. Bought three pairs in the Oxfam for 7, amazing value.

  17. I’d love to know if there was alot of irish in a Ukrainian village and a little girl went into a charity shop with 1 Ukrainian hryvnia how much would they recieve ? Not looking for an argument people it’s just a thought.

  18. My mum works in a charity shop too, believe me when I tell you she gave the Ukrainians loads of bargains too 🙂 if you can’t help someone in their time of need when can you help
