It is against the law in Sweden to handle or touch the king in any way. A 1000 kr fine can be given by the Swedish Authority for picking up a Gustaf. People can even be taken to court and get a fine of up to 10000 kr.
Unfortunately, Gustafs are a protected species in Sweden, and, per the Swedish Authority Act of 1987, can’t be kept as pets. You’re also not allowed to take Gustafs out of Sweden to be your pet elsewhere, meaning you’re most likely to spot one on their native island.
