Legalise it all, tax it and set up a dedicated agency to ensure/prevent trafficking.
I didn’t realise that street sex workers still existed in Dublin. I haven’t seen one anywhere in years.

The report is based on interviews with 25 people 15 from Dublin and 10 from Limerick which, apart from being a biased set of people, is an extremely small set to draw conclusions from.
The allegation of exploitation appears to step from ‘belief or experience’ These are two wildly different ways to inform a report. An urban myth of exploitation is not remotely the same as personal experience and blurring those lines is incredibly bad practice.
How this gets published is beyond me.
Maybe it’s me but I’m suprised there are still women doing sex work. I would have thought they would have gone over to somewhere like onlyfans. To my mind it seems like the better alternative, you’re doing the same work and are safer as you’re in your own home/flat.
Maybe there’s something I’m missing.
Garda rats
Cops shaking down hookers for freebies is a trope as old as time.
By design, Frances Fitzgerald is the Fine Gaeler responsible pushing the bill that gave Gardaí discretion as to who could be named and shamed under the guise of criminalizing the purchase of sex which in itself would knowingly put sex workers in danger.
People in a position of power over vulnerable people, abusing their power. I am deeply unsurprised.
