I suspect that uptake will still be decent in the elderly and vulnerable groups that will be offered it.
We always see good uptake of the flu vaccine each year, despite the flu definitely being something that we live with.
I’d imagine that if the booster was open to the general population uptake among the remaining groups would probably be quite a lot lower, though.
Never begun.
I’m 27 and I’m taking it just like I’m taking the flu jab
Wishful thinking has negative implications. Amazing. 🙄
And guess who is to blame for that?
Boris.
It is over though.
I want my booster, just don’t want moderna.
If it’s anything like the flu jab they won’t even offer it to non vulnerable groups and just tell us to fuck off if we try to book one.
Its not over it never will be, just like the flu. We need to get on with it. Ditch the madk wearing its beyond a joke.
I was at my local hospital the other day almost no one was wearing a mask.
Yeah, I don’t intend to take it unless I’m essentially strong-armed to.
You can get 120k now if it messes you up so there are even fewer excuses not to get it.
I’ll take it if they offer it to me but I’m not going to go out my way to get it if they don’t
>“Speaking to my patients, many of them say they feel they have had enough Covid-19 vaccines.”
3 in less than a year… yeah, I can see why people would say that
My mum (in her 60s) and my Granny (in her 90s) have both decided they won’t be having any more.
May? It does already and will have a huge impact
I had the first one under intense pressure from family and won’t be having anymore. I literally don’t care.
Eh had 3 jabs, arms only just recovered from feeling dead in a spot from the booster. not sure ill get booster but will see
Nah I’m good. Had covid, had the first 2 jabs, not bothered about getting any more.
Some have been acting like that since the first lockdown ended, however most people will still take the vaccine if offered, just to be safe. There will always be a minority who will think that COVID is nothing to worry about and we cannot force them to be vaccinated. We just have to vaccinate as many people as possible and hope for the best these days, those caught up in the anti-vaxx movement are too stubborn to admit any ignorance on their part.
There are thousands of highly qualified medical professionals who say the jab is a huge gamble and believe it’s going to do great harm. Their voices are being strangled. The BBC, newspapers & Social Media especially are cancelling alternate views. If you have the ability to think critically, I doubt anyone would have it. Even those going with the government line are now changing their minds. This Doctor is a good short listen. Been commenting since the start, he’s now worried.
My sister in law decided to have it for the sake of the old folks. The vaccine has mushroomed her. She used to work with her husband most days and keep the house, now she’s unable to get out of bed 50% of days. The rest of the time she just potters about.
She’s 43. Was fit and healthy before vaccine.
Astrazeneca know what the issues were with clotting but refuse to even talk to her.
Corrupt governments, corrupt pharma.
Stick all their vaccines up their disgusting arseholes and may they all get cancer.
And no, she isn’t alone. The support groups for people suffering from the vaccines are getting bigger by the day.
I’ve had the 2 main vaccines + a booster last summer (I think?) and I’ve just had 2 weeks off work with covid and every single symptom imaginable. I think I could be persuaded to have another booster if it meant a little bit more immunity for a bit longer as I don’t particularly want to get covid again if it’s going to be as bad as I’ve just experienced.
That’s coming from someone who said they were done with covid and vaccines and wouldn’t be having anything further.
To be honest, surprised there isn’t a bigger concern about the booster choice for the programme. The one for the UK is a bivalent mix of the wild strain and omicron ba.1.
Whereas the current growing and dominant strain is ba.5. Which has been shown to have good immune escape from those who’ve had ba.1 or ba.2.
It’s why the Americans are delaying their programme to use a ba.5 bivalent which should be ready by mid September.
good. in aug 2022 it’s paranoia. move on.
Covid is here to stay ,unfortunately.
Looking forward to anti-omnicron vaccine, and hoping that there will be no more mutations.
Hoping they offer 4th doses to everyone soon…
Unless you’re vulnerable and likely to die from it, most everyone else ought to just think of it and treat it as you would any other flu-like virus that comes and goes every year.
Give vaccines to those most at risk, and for the rest of the population just prescribe good over-the-counter flu relief/remedies.

The scamdemic continues
