Yeah but the Italians make it better.
Ever seen a German ice cream shop in another country? Fuck no. But there’s Italian gelaterias all over Germany.
Big countries produce more product? Who would have thought?!?
News that change the world…
why the hell is ice cream measured in litres, when it’s a solid product?
A part from being more populous countries, it may be related on when ice cream is consumed. In Spain ice cream is seen as a summer only dessert, it sells incredible lower quantities in winter. In the Nordics I have seen a more even consumption, even that summer is still king. I do not know how it works for Germany or if what I saw only happens in my circle. But it could be interesting to see if such a difference in consumption exists.
Google trends shows that, at least, [Germans search more for ice cream on-line during summer](https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=all&geo=DE&q=ice%20cream), thou. So, I may be wrong.
And, as expected, ice cream makers push for it to be consumed all year around.
