  1. It was a promising first round as an underdog, then the next 3 rounds went to Usman as expected. All the commentators were writing him off just before he got the headkick to win. Really didn’t expect to see another UK UFC champion for a while, really happy for Leon.

  2. Corner: “Leon, get out there and stop feeling fucking sorry for yourself”

    Leon…..

I’m still buzzing, amazing!! So unexpected, nice one Leon, serious rocky moment!

  3. Out of nowhere! Watched every second of the fight, looked down to find a lighter for one second and it was over. Looked fucked after the 1st round, didn’t wanna be there. Then boom.

  4. Working all weekend so was gonna watch the replay later, of all the places, I didn’t expect spoilers from r/UK.

But more to the point, this is brilliant news!! Saw a Cory McKenna fight the other day too and she was brilliant.

Hopefully more UFC in UK soon as we have some great talent

  5. Don’t understand why people insist on spoiling the result for others like this, the fight was like 5am mate not everyone has seen it.

Please use a different title in the future, all the MMA & UFC subs do it so there’s already a format to follow.

  6. Greatest comeback knockout of all time especially considering it was for the title. Leon did look off the entire fight and my guess it was the altitude of Salt Lake City. Next fight Wembley!

  7. Come on man, don’t be like that and spoil the result in the title. The fight was on in the middle of the night and I’m sure lots of people were going to watch the replay later.

  8. Great fight! Happy to finally have another UFC champion from the UK.

Another important ‘first’ here is that Leon has trained pretty much exclusively in the UK, Michael Bisping, the last UK champ, despite being from the UK, he lived and trained in America.

Leon made a point of this in the post fight conference that fighters here can become champions while staying here to train, absolutely sensational result!

  9. Didn’t think he’d win after he got taken down in the 5th but he did it. I think Usman is favourite for the 3rd fight. Its similar to Nunes v Pena.

Can’t see Paddy Pimblett being a lightweight champion as that’s been the most stacked division for the last 10 years.
