This summer while on a hut trip in Rondane National park I found this little hut. It looks like it must have been dragged out here maybe in the winter. It looked like it had a bench and a wood stove inside. What are these huts called? Are they common in Norway? Where are they sold?

Waiting for the answer.
I love how it looks.
What is its function?
I don’t know about this specific one, but many huts like this are used as a stopping point/destination when out hiking (or more commonly) skiing. You ski up, make some food, have a cozy time, sign the book that’s inside, and carry on your way. I suspect they can also stand in as temporary emergency shelters if necessary. There’s a few around my family’s cabin that we hike to/stop at.
To sum up what several here are saying – The shape of the shed suggests that it came there on wheels or more probably a sled, dragged by horses. My guess – having lumberjacks in the family for generations – is they then used the wheels/sled to drag lumber down the mountain or to a nearby river. When the work was done, after one or more seasons, the shed would either be moved to the next location, or if that wasn’t worthwhile, stay as a shelter for travellers, hunters etc. Today you can buy them ready to go, as prepackaged kits to build for yourself, or just build it from scratch. With trailers, campers and ATVs it’s been ages since I saw someone do that in the wild though – they are more often found in gardens or backyards.
My grandparents have one, my granddad used it when he was working in the forrest with logging. Now my uncles use it when they go hunting.
Rondane is one of my fave parks o/
If you google moelvenbrakke or modulbygg, that might get you some results in terms of finding something.
These were definitively more common for lumberjacks, as they needed to move them from work site to work site. With modern forestry, they’ve grown less useful, and some may have been adopted for outdoors activity or simply abandoned. I’d be surprised if you find brand new ones this size. Modulbygg are still common, but the ones intended for leisure are fancier, and when they’re needed for constructuon f ex brakkerigg type modules is more common.
