Probably a weird question, but this is my Ryanair cabin crew contract. Does being paid one month in arrears mean I will have to essentially go two months without pay? With rent prices the way they are? Are they joking?

I could be very wrong, but say we start on the 1st of September. Does that mean we aren’t getting paid for the work we done from 1st of September to 28th of September until the next pay day, which would be 28th of October?
I think it just means the same as monthly in arrears, so for example, you get paid at the end September, for your work in September.
That’s fairly standard in every job, but it’s really a question for Ryanair
Out of interest, based on this and how many flights you do, what’s the expected total monthly / yearly salary?
It means if you start on the first of the month, you’ll be paid in the 28th for the full month you worked. It’s standard.
This is literally standard wording to 95% of employment contracts and nothing to worry about.
They’re hardly going to pay you in advance.
Ryanair are such gowls, constantly seeing recently hired cabin crew pleading for places to rent near the airport on community fb pages
I work for an agency and get paid a week in arrears. So when I get paid tomorrow, it’ll be for the hours worked last week, not this week. You could very well be waiting 2 months for a pay check, definitely worth clarifying.
Serious question, why would you want to do that job?
The remuneration package is shit, you don’t get to visit any nice destinations, and the working conditions are terrible.
Fuck it lads you would be better off on the dole.
Arrears is the frequency of your pay sometimes a week in hand used to be a common thing but tbf I haven’t heard of that in a long old time
Jesus fuck! How did Ryanair pay you less than I received in 2010. My flight pay was 15.70 and hour. Block hours that is.
Edit: also its 90hours not 100 hours per months! Eu regulations allow you to work 90 block hours not 100
I worked in a Lidl store when I was in college and we got paid monthly. We got paid say on the 28th of the month for our contracted hours. My contract was a 10hr contract so I would be paid let’s say €500 on the 28th (€12.50×40 for 4 weeks). In reality I worked around 25 hours a week but the other 15 was “overtime” so I wouldn’t be paid that till the following month, so 2 months later.
I’d just double check it with Ryanair to be sure in case they do something like this but it sounds like it’s just standard the way it’s written there.
What is the average hours of flight per month for an employee?
Out of interest OP, why do people want to work as Flight Attendants for Ryanair? I mean the pay is absolutely horrible, way below what you’d earn in Lidl or McDonald’s, is this something you did just so you could try and join a better airline in the future such as Emirates? Or *excuse the language* was it purely out of desperation?
Best of luck OP. Ryanair cabin crew have been universally sound in my experience and they seem to enjoy the job.
As an aside it’s funny that Ryanair pay flight hours at €9.99 rather than rounding it up to €10. They are using psychology pricing but using it the wrong way around. They should want to give staff the impression of more pay, not less. Probably so ingrained in the company to make every number a .99
Welcome to the world.
