Andrew Tate banned from Facebook and Instagram

  1. > In one video, during which he was interviewed by another YouTuber, he said he was “absolutely a misogynist”, adding: “I’m a realist and when you’re a realist you’re sexist. There’s no way you can be rooted in reality and not be sexist.”

    > Later in the same video he called women “intrinsically lazy” and said there was “no such thing as an independent female”.

    > In a different video, Mr Tate said: “If I have responsibility over her, then I must have a degree of authority,”

    > He added: “You can’t be responsible for a dog if it doesn’t obey you.”

I only discovered who this guy is a couple of weeks ago.

I was walking home when two boys aged… 12? 13? apprehended me and wanted to film me. I said no, and they continued to follow me being abusive (yep… 12/13 year olds).

They then shouted something about Andrew Tate. I’m a woman – so presumably related to this kind of misogyny.

What’s this guy encouraging young lads like this to do exactly?

  2. I keep seeing his name pop up in here, but have no idea who he is.

I’m going to keep it that way, but I suspect that he’ll stay in the light so long as people keep sharing stories about him.

  3. 7 days ago, I had never heard of Andrew Tate. Every day since, I am seeing his name pop up on various social media outlets including Reddit.
It’s very bizarre and doesn’t seem like typical organic growth – so I’d question why, how and who is pushing him up the algorithms so prominently that he’s become a ‘household’ name in such a short period of time.

  4. He’s a complete tosspot!

An angry, violent and manipulative individual.

Kids are not going to be missing out on his “advice” unless they like being spat at and slapped…

He’s raising a generation of frustrated incels to not look inward as to why they are not in a relationship.

  5. I first heard of this man barely two days ago.

I was given guardianship of my 14 yr old nephew for unrelated reasons a couple of months ago. During a conversation I find out he supports Tate, and agrees with much of what he says. We argued for ages, although he honed his argument down to that of average physical strength which I lost. I gained some momentum with longevity and general health which he agreed to but…

    I’m horrified! Help!

  6. The odd thing is I have been on a black hole of YouTube shorts lately and this utter charisma vacuum has been coming up consistently despite me giving them a thumbs down every time. So YouTube as always, as a platform, is as responsible for shoving this media down peoples throats as much as he is for producing it.

    *edit*

Someone else in the comments mentioned manipulator as a description of him. That’s one of the vibes that he strongly gave off from the few videos I saw. Absolutely appalling person.

  7. I have a young male teenager. He started talking about Tate a week or so into the summer holidays. After then memes about him were popular. When the news stories started I paid attention and and inquired. I was a bit confused as when my son had said his name he was laughing. Because he and his mates are laughing at Tate. They know hes a twat. I’m going to add the suggestion that that is what a cokehead behaves like, might put him off in future.

  8. Why do so many people genuinely seem to believe the “deplatforming them only makes them stronger” arguments?

If that we’re true, the socialists would be running the country, they get less attention than alt right dickheads.
Yet they’re not for some reason.

Or Katie Hopkins and her ilk would be even more famous now, than they were when they were on social media.
Yet they’re not for some reason.

Look, if this guy has 100 followers, and 20 of them are hardcore, in at the deep end zealots, a big chunk of those 20 might become more entrenched.
But the other 80 will forget about him fairly quickly and move on to someone else.

It’s like when my uncle shared some Britian First “support our troops” post on Facebook. He’s not racist, not a BF supporter, and probably didn’t know who they were.
But if he ended up seeing a lot of their posts, he could get sucked in and start believing it.

And before anyone says “well that would be his own dumb fault” 1) you’d still have to live in the same country as him, and his voting patterns skewed by BF.
    2) If you’re too thick to see the tabloid media doing exactly that (to a lesser degree of radicalisation, but to a much bigger audience) you’re beyond help. It happens to normal rational people.

Banning him isnt to erase him from existence, or to try and Men In Black flashy thing him out of the minds of the impressionable kids who’ve watched him already. Its to stop more people being sucked in.

Edit – and the same “deplatforming makes them stronger” argument also applies to the “just engage them in rational debate and we’ll see their lies and poor logic fall to pieces” one.
How people can still spout that shite after Donald Trump became president, took over the entire Republican party, and they still have huge levels of support is an idiot.
If facts, rational debate and the truth worked, we wouldn’t have trump, Boris, brexit, climate change denial, covid denial etc etc.

  9. This dickhead was already banned from Twitter for this shit, in addition to his disparaging comments about how anyone who suffered from depression was weak.

  10. Yeah he’s a vile human being, let’s not spread his name more than necessary. He should be forgotten and consigned to irrelevance.

  11. Considering that Hustler’s university is an MLM scheme, this guy has got a finger in literally every dubious pie and kept upping the ante until someone managed to get the balls to ban him.

  12. This planet is gone. Like, beyond redemption.

From this loon to the guy trying to run for office in Florida on the policy of shooting law enforcement officers on sight.

The right have broken the planet.

  13. He thinks being grounded in reality means being sexist.

Reality is what we make of it. If your reality is sexist, that’s on you dipshit.

  14. The guys I work with I thought were decent guys but I brought up Andrew Tate yesterday to them and they were all like ah he’s 50/50 with what he says but I like him..couldn’t believe it and seriously makes me think less of them for their attitudes to him.

I asked him what 50% he says is true and they just couldn’t admit anything

  15. Probably became aware of this guy in the last couple on months, everything I’ve seen confirms he is an absolute doss cunt.

  16. First and only thing I ever saw from him was a clip of him saying he’s too smart to enjoy reading, and how only dumb people enjoy reading. Also how he can only be entertained by “fucking women and driving fast cars”. This should tell you everything you will ever need to know about this man.
