I used to live in Germany as a student but have been gone for months now, and no longer have a European bank account. I got this email from my old gym, since I’m not registered in Germany anymore and have no bank account there, they can’t do anything to me, right?

  1. I wonder why peple are so stupid and evil to do this. You should have simply asked to stop the gym membership before leaving. You can do that via email.

That amount will only get bigger because you are still registered. The moment you step foot in the german or EU border you will probably be detained/stopped at pass control and asked to pay or gtfo. As they should. Just pay your bills or send an email to stop the membership.

Apart from the sheer gall of your question, for fuck’s sake, of course they can. They can sue you. They can try to find you. If they will invest into that route – who knows? But: They can wait for you until you cross the border to the European Union again.
